Why do i get overstimulated?
The story
so i went to this tech conference with my friend last weekend. he was all excited about the networking and talks, but i wasn't too sure how i'd handle everything and boy, was it overwhelming. from the moment we walked in, the place was a sensory overload: bright lights flickered everywhere and it was so noisy with everyone talking over each other plus endless announcements blaring. i tried to keep up for a bit, checking out the latest gadgets and tech booths but honestly, my head started pounding within an hour. trying to listen to conversations was like decoding a complex algorithm: just couldn't process it through all that noise.
there were moments when we'd pass by speakers presenting on AI ethics or cybersecurity trends, and i'd catch myself zoning out 'cause of all the buzz around me. strangely enough, witnessing drones not work properly (someone joked they had a "404 error") didn't help calm my nerves at all! 😂 even small talk felt heavy during lunch breaks, where fellow attendees would pick apart keynotes with buzzword-heavy comments. anyway i'm wondering if anyone else feels like this after attending these huge events? does anyone have any strategies on dealing with overstimulation in such environments or is it just me being sensitive?
