is it true that when you can't sleep someone is thinking about you?
The story
You know, there's this saying or belief that when you can't sleep at night, it's because someone else is thinking about you. I've always found that idea so comforting and a bit whimsical 🤗🥰. When I was younger, my dear grandmother used to say this to me whenever I had trouble falling asleep. It made sleepless nights feel less lonely. She'd tell stories of long-lost lovers and friends who drifted apart but remained connected through thoughts across distances, like invisible threads tying hearts together.
The other night, as I lay in bed staring at the ceiling with thoughts racing through my mind, I couldn't help but recall her soothing words again. I wondered if it was true.... could there actually be someone out there thinking of me? And for some reason, it didn’t matter whether it was an old friend or maybe someone I just met recently. The mere thought brought a smile to my face and a sense of peace over all the chaos bouncing around my mind.
I guess what I'm trying to express is this: whether or not there's any truth behind it doesn't really matter in the end, does it? It's about finding reassurance in simple beliefs that might not hold up under scrutiny but have emotional strength nonetheless. They give us something intangible yet valuable: a sense of connection even when we feel isolated. So here's to hoping tonight I'll find sleep knowing maybe someone's thinking of me too....
