Random Restaurant Worker
The story
So I stopped in at a restaurant to eat and around the corner comes this guy with makeup on, a deep gravely rumbly voice like butter and from the moment we locked eyes, neither one of us could stop smiling. He was even dancing around the restaurant when certain songs came on and pointing at me and winking at times. I was too scared to ask him for any contact info or to be friends because I'm in between jobs at the moment and don't have an active phone right now and didn't want to be too embarrassed. I kinda wish it wouldn't be too creepy to see if I could find him online and ask if he wants to be friends. He was cute as hell and had a style that I definitely loved. I feel like he would be a great friend if anything.

I had a similar situation when I ran into someone unforgettable in an unexpected place, like a convention. This guy wore the most unconventional outfit but damn if he didn't pull it off with style and charisma. It's strange how these moments stick with you, right? You'd think in today's digital age it'd be easy to find someone later on, through social media or something, but it's not always that simple. Sometimes those serendipitous encounters just have to remain memories unless fate intervenes again.
I'm not sure what it is, but I just cannot get the small connection we(me and him) had off my mind. Maybe I'm just lonely lol.
hey i totally get what you're saying. this one time, i was at the park and there was a girl who was just so magnetic like she had this infectious energy about her and i'll never forget how we connected over a mutual love of weird dog videos. it's wild how some people just have that vibe you know? but yeah, reaching out feels tricky especially when life feels uncertain but hey who knows right?
Man, that sounds like a scene from a movie or something! 😊 I mean, those moments happen in real life too, but it's always like they get under your skin and you just can't shake them. Maybe bumping into him again will be the universe's way of saying "go for it". Sometimes you gotta let fate do its thing. But hey, if he was dancing and winking at you, maybe he's hoping to see you around again too!
man, it’s wild how some people just light up a room and get stuck in your brain like that. i once met someone at this concert who had such an infectious energy, similar to what you're describing. we didn’t exchange contacts either because life was just messy at the time. but you know what? sometimes those brief interactions are special enough on their own, even if they don’t turn into something more. do you think you'd ever run into him again at that restaurant or maybe somewhere else randomly? fate's a funny thing...
If I were to run into him again, given he works at the restaurant I frequent, (I just think I haven't run into him before because of timing or something similar) I'll be sure to ask if he wants another friend. And of course, no hard feelings if he doesn't. I just really felt a spark from him, not like a relationship spark, but just a kind of 'good soul' spark. Like a friend, if anything, that would light a corner of my world a little bit. It's just the way he was looking at me, his eyes. You don't look at somebody with eyes like that. But, he may have just been playing his role, if anything. Maybe I'm just thinking too into things and need to chill out. But that look was the kind of look that some books are inspired from.
caeful tho only if u sure
I would ask him for consent before I do anything else. Afterall, he is a stranger that held eye contact most of the interactions we had and had a wickedly beautiful style that caught my attention. Other than that, I do not know this man, nor do I have his consent for anything at this time. But it doesn't hurt to ask, right?
not to be harsh or anything but you're overthinking it dude.
omg ths sounds so much liek when i met this barista who wass all artsy n always cracked jokes when making coffee he wuld even do these funny lil dances with his apron strings. we dont chat anymore bc things got busy for both us but sometimes i think bout those times and giggle you know u shud maybe consider ur gut feeling it can be hard to tell tho what moves to make in thes kinds of situations
you know, it's kinda wild how these spontaneous connections just hit different. maybe it's the unexpected nature of it all that makes it stick in your head... like you're minding your own business and then bam, someone just vibes with you on a level you weren't prepared for. i've been there too where i felt this strong pull to someone but was unsure if it was all one-sided or just a momentary thing. sometimes it's not about making immediate moves; who knows, life has a funny way of bringing people back into our orbit when we least expect it! keep that hope alive 😊
you ever just feel like the universe is teasing you? like throwing people into your path as a little 'what if' scenario. i totally understand wanting to reach out but feeling like circumstances aren't quite aligning yet. sometimes i think these connections happen for reasons we don't get till later.
Yeah, totally! The universe works in weird ways.
honestly, i think you're putting way too much thought into this. sure, you had a cool encounter with a guy at a restaurant who had some flair, but it’s not like that's gonna happen every day or anything. approaching someone in person is always an option if you run into him again. people get all caught up in online methods and forget that talking face-to-face works just fine when you're there in the moment! yeah, it might feel awkward without a phone right now but if he’s as vibey as you're saying, he'll probably appreciate the genuine approach more than getting a random message online. being upfront can be intimidating, but what do you have to lose? maybe next time just go for it and see how things play out... never know until you try! 😊
why didn't you say hi at least?
sounds like you had a meet-cute straight out of a rom-com 😂 but seriously, i get where you're coming from. those random moments can really shake things up and leave you thinking about what-ifs... it's almost annoying how they stick with you right? personally, i've learned that sometimes if there's a genuine connection, life has this weird way of making stuff happen when it’s meant to. plus, who knows? for all we know he could be thinking the same thing about "that person at the restaurant." try not to stress too much over it and hey, maybe next time you'll have your phone back in action!
i kinda felt similar too once wished i'd taken my chance but ended up being okay without connecting again u just never know but on the other hand its tricky cause it might be meant to pass by.
maybe not worth it?
I completely relate. There was an art event I attended where everyone seemed cool but then I noticed a person who stood out uniquely due to their style and charisma. We chatted momentarily about art pieces and shared laughs. It's amazing how certain individuals catch our attention and linger in our thoughts often with us pondering missed opportunities for further connection.
