The story
Hey!
It's midnight here and I'm unable to sleep though my body is tired, but I just can't fall asleep. I have been thinking about my old self, the person I used to be back in high school. I was an Art student who used to spend most of her time playing with colors and sketch anything she sees like even a little insect lol. I had a very clear goal in my mind that I'll become an art teacher after graduation. Well, life happened and I was losing my soul piece by piece. I lost my parents, a home, caught up in addiction almost on my dead bed and the career that I never able to start.
These memories of mine are keeping me up all night, I would say multiple nights. There's this voice inside of me telling me to pick up my pencil and draw just draw, no matter what just do it. And I'm thinking is it too late to start all over again? Should I listen to the voice? Should I? idk It's been like more than 10 years since I picked up my pencil.
haha after typing my feelings here I feel calm. Nice platform

Kinda wild how life kicks us around, huh? But man, it's never too late to pick up that pencil again. I mean, if there's even a tiny voice telling you to draw, why not give it a shot? Worse comes to worst, you've doodled some paper.
hey, i hear you but maybe you're being a bit hard on yourself. life throws all kinds of unexpected stuff our way and it's okay that plans change. just because you haven't picked up a pencil in a while doesn't mean you can't now. remember, art is like riding a bike; once you start again, it might feel familiar.
hi there, it sounds like you're dealing with a lot right now and it's understandable that those memories are weighing on you. idk, maybe think of picking up that pencil as an experiment instead of a commitment? no need to pressure yourself into making it something big or perfect. maybe just start small and see how it feels... sometimes even a little step can make things clearer. plus, who knows what might come out of this exploration! take care 🙂
Starting over can feel daunting but your passion for art seems to remain within you. It isn't uncommon for life to sidetrack our initial goals yet the voice you're hearing speaks to the persistent artist inside. Maybe begin small and see where it takes you however keep in mind that progress takes time.
Totally agree! It's great advice to start small.
yo, life doesn't get easier just because we had dreams once. Starting again after years won't be easy, but nothing worth doing ever is; picked up my guitar after almost a decade and felt like I was starting fresh too! give it a shot if the urge is strong... you've got nothing to lose, huh?
Isn't it strange how memories have this way of circling back? Those reflections you're having... they seem intense yet oddly grounding. Maybe there's something to be said about the transformative power of art, right?!?? Picking up that pencil after a decade could feel intimidating, but also liberating. 🤔 Who knows what kind of beauty might emerge from giving yourself permission to explore again! Change isn't bound by timeframes or past setbacks; it's fueled by the courage we muster in the present.
Hey there! 😄 It's amazing how art can still tug at your heartstrings after all these years, right? Life's got a wild way of turning tables on us, but maybe that old itch to draw is your soul's way of reminding you who you are deep down. If there's even a hint of curiosity or excitement about picking up that pencil again, why let it slip away? Worst case scenario, you express yourself and rediscover a bit of joy; Sounds like a win-win. Just remember, it's totally okay to start small and just see where it takes you. 😊
Sometimes, it really helps to break things down and tackle them one step at a time. If picking up a pencil feels daunting after all these years, maybe start with something small like sketching or doodling quietly while you unwind from your day; it's amazing how just a little creative outlet can help lighten that mental load. Reconnecting with art might find a way of healing some old wounds and who knows, it could spark something that leads to more positive changes.
hey, it's wild how life can take all these unexpected turns. i totally feel you on reminiscing about the past and getting stuck thinking about who you used to be. those voices telling us to follow old passions are hard to ignore; maybe it's a sign. picking up that pencil could reignite something hopeful in your life now, even after all these years. emotions keep swirling around but maybe that's just what makes the heart beat faste...

Man, sounds like you've been through a lot. Life can really throw some crazy curveballs at us! 😅 But hey, if there's even a little spark of interest and passion left for art, it'd be sick to just go for it, even after 10 years. The past doesn't define your future; it's never too late to reignite that fire! 🔥 Who knows? Picking that pencil might bring back some joy you forgot you had! 🌟
Hey! Wow, that sounds tough, but also like there's a spark just waiting to ignite. You know, sometimes life kicks us down and then gives us these little nudges as if it's saying, 'hey man, remember what you're passionate about?' Been there myself with music (left it for ages) but when I came back it was like my heart took a deep breath again. If your gut's telling you to pick up that pencil, why not give it a go? Who cares about years past; you're alive now and that's what counts. Even if it starts messy or slow, you're doing it for you, right? 😊
it's never too late dude. pick up the pencil already LOL if u love it just do it. don't overthink.
Bro, if you gotta a voice telling you to pick up that pencil after 10 years, maybe there's something to it?!?? Can't believe you'd let some old memories steal your sleep. Ten years or not, if it's calling you now, you got nothing to lose by answering; who knows what you'll create. Life's weird like that! Just dive in and see where it takes ya.
it mite b gud bt make sure u ready 2 commit be4 diving bak.
Memories can be tricky companions, but they also remind us of our deepest passions; sometimes returning to what we love after a long break feels like coming home.
Wow, sounds like a wild ride you've been on! 😅 But isn't it crazy how life always leaves us with these little breadcrumbs of what we used to love? Maybe picking up that pencil again is exactly what you need. It doesn't have to be perfect, just start by scribbling and see where it takes you! It's not too late if you're breathing, ya know? It's pretty brave to even think about starting over, so maybe that's your sign!
man, it's tough when the mind won't shut off and keeps replaying those old scenes. i totally get the feeling like you're stuck thinking about what could've been; dreaming is way simpler than dealing with reality sometimes. but maybe all this reminiscing is trying to tell you something, yeah? perhaps that voice urging you to draw isn't just nostalgia, but a genuine call to reclaim a part of yourself that's been buried under life's chaos; rediscovering art might just bring an unexpected sense of fulfillment and peace. besides, 10 years or not, creativity doesn't have an expiration date, y'know?
but why wait?
So here's a thought... like, maybe it's not even just about becoming an art teacher anymore, ya know? 🤔 What if picking up that pencil is less about going back to how things were and more about finding a new path through it? You survived so much, maybe there's something for you in the art that's different from what you originally planned. The heart seems to know stuff before the mind does sometimes... give that voice a chance because these moments might be nudging you towards some other kind of fulfillment. Not sure if this makes sense but worth pondering over!
Thinking about the past is important but it shouldn't hold you back from moving forward, especially with something that seems so deeply ingrained in who you are. Consider how picking this back up could help create the future you're longing for.
True, revisiting things can spark new paths forward!
hey there, seems like you're wrestling with a lot but also feeling that old flicker of inspiration. reminds me of how sometimes we just need a creative outlet to process what's been happening in our lives. looking back, i had a similar moment during grad school where i stopped writing for ages because life was overwhelming. when i finally picked up the pen again (just for myself), it helped untangle so much in my head. even if it's been 10 years, art might give you that clarity or peace you've been missing. why not let your mind wander on paper and see what surfaces? maybe that's the best way to handle those lingering nights when sleep won't come.
i get ur point but really is staring at old memories gonna help? sometimes it's better to leave past where it belongs n focus on present what say?
kinda strange how life takes these unexpected turns and we sometimes end up so far from where we thought we'd be, right?
