how to not care?
The story
so I just got hit with an unexpectedly harsh performance review at work. I mean, I was prepared and really gave it my all, but the feedback was totally off. instead of crumbling under the criticism, I find myself stuck trying to figure out how to shake off these negative remarks. these days, with stressors popping up everywhere, it's like even the strongest employees are struggling to keep their heads above water. cultivating resilience feels more essential than ever, right?
trying to excel in your career takes serious dedication and a willingness to accept feedback, but let’s face it: negative reviews can really knock your confidence. if you don’t handle it right, it can mess with your head. I keep telling myself that recognizing areas for improvement is part of the game, but it’s tough not to take it all too personally. staying centered becomes crucial when you’re in this mess.
I mean, I could see these assessments as tools for growth, but it’s hard to not feel like they just pile on the pressure. maybe if I could find a way to detach a bit from what my bosses say, it would lessen the sting of their not-so-great reviews. I’m really trying to figure out ways to deal with criticism at work without losing my cool or my motivation. any tips would be super helpful for finding that balance between work goals and just being human 🙂
